Mrs. Paul Pitchki(sic) of this city was forced last Saturday to suffer
the amputation of her right hand on account of a disease of the bone
which has been troubling her for a long time past and threatened to
terminate fatally unless amputation was resorted too. The operation was
performed by Drs. Curren and Christensen and thus far her condition has
been such as to indicate that she will not succumb to the shock. She is
a woman of about 60 years of age and the amputation was made mid-way
between the wrist and elbow.
