Leila May Walker, 78, of Galesburg, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, March 25, 2018 at home.

Leila was born November 11, 1939 in Helena, AR, the daughter of Joseph and Robbie (Lewis) Johnson. Leila is survived by her companion of 36 years, William Perry of Galesburg; five sons, John (Virginia) Johnson, George Johnson, Raymond Walker, Michael Walker, and Joseph Walker; five daughters, Carletha (Johnny) Davis, Robin Johnson, Luecrisie (Starling) Hightower, Mildred (Kevin) Mitchell, and Annette Miller; along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Along with her parents, Leila was preceded in death by one son, Clint Walker; one granddaughter; a daughter in law, Regina Walker; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Leila enjoyed being outdoors fishing; she also enjoyed crocheting and dancing. She will be remembered as a feisty but loving lady who always had an open door. She was deeply loved and respected by all who knew her.

Memorial visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorial services will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Kimberly Bonds officiating. Memorials may be made to the family in c/o Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory.
