Matthew Scott Lewis, 35, of La Junta Colorado went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 21, 2018.

His Memorial Service will be held at Cox Funeral Home at 4180 Canyon Dr, Amarillo, TX on Monday, March 26, 2018. Visitation will begin at 6:00pm and the service will follow at 7:00pm.

Matthew was born on July 31, 1982 during a rainstorm in Johnson City, TN. Matt was raised in a Christian family and was a member of Calvary Church in La Junta, Colorado. Matthew grew up in Amarillo, TX and graduated from Amarillo High School in 2000, Amarillo College in 2003, and West Texas A&M University in 2008 with a Bachelor's degree. Matthew was employed by Pepsi Co in La Junta. He always had a smile and a big bear hug for everyone he met.

Matthew is survived by; his wife Emily Sabin KingLewis and his two children Cladie Sabin KingLewis & Ledford Staley KingLewis, his parents Gary & Debbie Lewis of Amarillo, TX, his brother Stephen Lewis & Katelyn Benedict of Albuquerque, NM and brother Adam Lewis & his wife Erica Helen Lewis of Tyler, TX, his paternal grandparents Carroll & Fern Lewis of Amarillo, TX, his aunt Robin Ledford of Erwin, TN, his uncle & aunt Jack & Rosie Lewis, his aunt Carolyn Kingham, his uncle & aunt Jimmy & Diana Lewis and many cousins: Michael & Irene Lewis, Chad & Chelsea Munkres, Todd & Dede Munkres, Chad & Laura Potter, Jacob Potter, Brandon & Megan Soto, Nathan Lewis, Kameron & Jaxx Lewis, Cannon & Ryder Munkres, Addie Munkres, and Collin Potter. He is also survived by Roma and Abby Jimenez, John & Allison Childress, Bo Childress, Taylor & Landrie Bray, and Robin & Dawna Muir.

Matthew was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Wayne & Phyllis Ledford, great grandparents Hayes & Pearl Ledford, Herbert & Bonnie Boone, Staley & Juanita Peake, great aunt Midge Ervin, & Sabin Neal King.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to support Cladie & Ledford.
