Annie Orr Powers was born in Alfred, Maine in 1850, the daughter of a congregational minister, John Orr and his wife, Mary. In 1876 [October 24] she married Cassius Clay Powers, who was a Boston attorney. He died in 1911 [should be 1901]. After his death she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Wade Armstrong. She was a resident of Nevada since 1930 and a resident of Reno for 13 years. She died at age 93 on Wednesday, July 21, 1943 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Armstrong, on Plumb Lane. Survivors included her daughter and one granddaughter, Mrs. Clifford J. Ruedy of Reno. Arrangements were by the O’Brien-Rogers Company.
