"Sue" Edwards was born in Oslo, Norway to Oscar and Johanna Hagen.

She met and married John Luke Beene at the age of 18 during WWII in 1945. They moved to Myrtle Pointe, Oregon and had four children. Sue spoke only Norwegian when she moved here with her new husband. She had to learn to speak English and she did so through her new sister-in-law.

Sue divorced in 1956 to begin a new life on her own with her four children. She then moved to Fresno, California and worked as a caregiver at the Las Palmas Manor for ten years.

Sue met and married Grant Edwards in 1967. They were married 32 years.

Sue quit her job as a caregiver in 1969. She then went to school to become a pet groomer so she could spend more time with her children and husband.

Sue and Grant moved to Oakhurst in 1982. Sue then lived out the rest of her life doing the things she loved doing, cooking (Norwegian tacos), fishing, camping, knitting, sewing and splitting wood. She loved to play any kind of games with friends and family. She had a passion for reading her favorite series of love novels. She also competed in a bowling league for ten years. Sue was a very strong woman and an inspiration to all who knew her.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Johanna Hagen; daughter, Johanna Raylene Beene; great-grandson Garrett; and husband, Grant Edwards.

She will be missed by her children, son, Rusty Beene and his wife Anna of Clovis; son, Tracy Beene of Oakhurst; daughter, Karin Sant' Agata and her husband Tom of Fresno; and daughter-in-law, Maralee Beene of Galt, California. She also left behind grandchildren Greg, James, Gina, Lori, Tommy and Angela; stepgrandchildren Dustin, Shane, Travis and Dannell; great-grandchildren Jordyn, Dereck, Brett, Keaton and Jaxon; and stepgreat-grandchildren Joshua, Dustin, Savannah, T.J., Russell, Austin Madison, Landon and Sara. Sue also had many stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with husband Grant.
