Lincoln Stanhope died at his Edmunds home on December 14 after a sudden heart attack. He was born in Robbinston on Feb. 22, 1863. At the age of 20, he moved to Eastport and married Etta Hayward who survives him. Also surviving him are eight children, 28 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family members at his funeral were Mrs. Florence Lyons, Rochester, NH; Rachael Pulsifer and Maggie Riggs, Framingham, NH; Lizzie Hoar, Lubec; Winfield Stanhope, Pembroke; Mrs. Audra Cox, Edmunds; George and Austin Stanhope, Edmunds and sister, Mrs. Ida Stuart, Eastport.
Mr. Stanhope's life was marked by his quite domestic homely disposition, always friendly and cheerful. He will be missed considerably in his community. The funeral was held at his late home. Bearers were sons Winfield, Austin and George Stanhope , Colby & Cox, Lloyd Leighton Interment, Dennysville. (Eastport Sentinel, Jan 2, 1935)
