Zelma B. Johnson, age 94 of Pikeville, Ky, passed away, Friday, March 23, 2018 at her home. Zelma was born on November 24, 1923, to her parents the late Alvin Colonel Braswell and Maudie May Braswell. Zelma was a homemaker and a member of the Grace Baptist Church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Oral Johnson and two brothers, Ernest Jesse Braswell and Marion Frances Braswell. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Helen (Larry) Compton of Millard Highway, and Charlotte J. (Charles) Sapp of Newton, NC. Zelma is survived by one sister Ruby Lee Beasley of Warren, Arkansas. Zelma is survived by her Grandchildren, Amy (Craig) Burke of Greer, SC, Meredith (Jeremiah) Elswick of Pikeville, April (Stacy) Hall of Little Creek, Stacey (Edward) Kelly of Rock Hill, SC. Zelma is survived by her Great Grandchildren, Miah Elswick and Merebeth Elswick of Pikeville. Elijah Burke, Aidan Burke, Molly Burke of Green, SC., Skylar Patrick Hooton of Rock Hill, SC, Logan Hall, Addison Hall of Virgie and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, March 23, 218, at 6:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home. Church Services will be Saturday and Sunday nights at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be Monday, March 26, 2018, 11:00 AM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home with Brian Horton officiating. Entombment will follow at the Johnson Memorial Mausoleum.
