William L. (Less) Applegate, 78, of Yorktown, a retired painter and paperhanger, died at 8 p.m. Saturday at Ball Hospital after an illness of one month.
A life resident of Yorktown, he was a member of Yorktown Christian church and of Mt. Pleasant Brotherhood.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Howard Pittenger of southwest of Muncie; one son, Chester of Springport; one sister, Mrs. Flossie DeHathaway of Indianapolis; four grandsons, and four great-granddaughters.
The body was taken to the Richman and Prillaman Funeral Home, Yorktown.
