RYNELLA A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Nancy Migues Blake, age 57, at 10:00 am Thursday, March 22, 2018 at St. Marcellus Catholic Church. Fr. James Nguyen will be the celebrant.
Nancy will be laid to rest in the church cemetery following the mass.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with the Mens Rosary Group leading the Rosary at 7:00 pm. Visiting hours will resume on Thursday from 7:00 am until 9:30 am.
Nancy was born December 12, 1960 in New Iberia to the late Haywood P. Migues, Sr. and the late Mary Alice Abbott Migues, and passed away peacefully Saturday, March 17, 2018 at her residence.
Nancy is a 1979 graduate of Mt. Carmel Academy and attended USL. She has worked with various oilfield related companies in an Administrative role, and was most recently employed with Asset Planning for Mr. Randy Gonsoulin. Some of Nancys pastimes included traveling with her love George, decorating her tree for the many different holidays, cooking for family, and caring for her three fur babies Rose, Grace and Chance. She also took time to serve her church family at St. Marcellus Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister.
Nancy had a beautiful heart filled with love for her family. Her nieces and nephews were the world to her and she absolutely adored them. She was always happy and never complained to others. Nancy leaves a legacy of love, kindness and faith that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband and best friend of 15 years, George J. Blake, II; her sisters and brothers, Haywood Tony Migues, Jr. (Peggy), Millie Migues, Marie Migues Bourque and Joey Migues (Jodie); her in-laws, Edgar Blake, Jeanne McElwee (Scott), Ben Blake (Amy) and Nancy Pace (John); her nieces and nephews whom she adored, Michael, Jacques, Faith, Mandy, Ashley, Jerard, Jenna, Aline, JT, Ashlyn, Erin, Julia, Jason, Lauren, Grayson and Ella; her great nieces, Layla and Lorelei; and her three fur babies that were her world, Rose, Grace and Chance.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Brian Migues and her mother and father-in-law, John Benjamin Blake and Gayle Farrar Blake.
Serving as pallbearers will be Michael, Jacques and JT Migues, Jerard Bourque, Brian Beyt, Jason McElwee, Grayson Morgan and Ben Blake.
