Joel B. Roberts of San Marcos, TX, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at the age of 56. He was born on July 6, 1960 to Joel V. and Janet (Watson) Roberts in San Marcos, TX.
His greatest love and his greatest accomplishment was his son, Valen.
He graduated from San Marcos High School in 1978. He attended Southwest Texas State University, now called Texas State University. He rodeoed during High School, College and was a professional Bull Rider until 1992.
Joel worked for the Texas State Treasury Department and was an adjuster for All State Insurance for 14 years.
He is survived by his parents; his wife, Kelly Roberts; son, Valen Roberts of Austin, TX; stepdaughters, Kylie and Kyra of San Marcos, TX; brother, Randy Roberts and wife, Carla of San Marcos, TX and their children, Reese and Sydney Roberts; sister, Tara Lantz and husband, Bret of San Marcos, TX and their children, Bret II and Brady Lantz.
