A. Ribustello & Son, Inc.
811 Morris Park Avenue
Bronx, New York

Serving the Morris Park Neighborhood since 1963.

“First opened as Anthony Ribustello Funeral Home in 1915 by Antonio Ribustello and his wife, Autilla, located at 681 Morris Avenue near Yankee Stadium. It was originally a store front operation with living facilities over the funeral home. Antonio and Autilla had five sons and two daughters but only the eldest son, Anthony J. Ribustello, followed in his father’s footsteps as his assistant. Anthony began using his middle name for business purposes and became well know as A. Joseph Ribustello. It was later in life that both he and his mother, Autilla, became licensed funeral directors.

The family operated the firm solely at the Morris Avenue location as Joe became involved in local politics and eventually became an Assemblyman, Councilman at Large for The Bronx and The Bronx County Republican Leader. Around 1960, Joseph began looking for another location because the City of New York was taking over the Morris Avenue location for development.

Mr. A. Joseph Ribustello (fondly referred to as Joe Ribustello) was an active force in the daily operations of the funeral home until his death on June 17, 1998. It was shortly after Joe’s death that the family decided to sell the funeral home to Robert Ruggiero of F. Ruggiero & Sons, Inc.”
