Anton Jagodzinski

Medford — Services for Anton J. Jagodzinski, 87, GSR, Medford, Town of Goodrich, were at 11 a.m. today at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mr. Jagodzinski died 2:12 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Hospital of Taylor County, where he had been a patient the past six weeks.

Officiating was the Rev. Marty Gibbons. Gibbons. Burial followed in Medford Catholic Cemetery. A prayer vigil was held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hemer Funeral Home.

Mr. Jagodzinski was born Dec. 4, 1894 in Marathon to Mr. and Mrs. Anton (Anna Sella) Jagodzinski and attended the Edgar area schools. He married the former Mamie Soczka Nov. 21, 1922. She survives.

The couple farmed in the Town of Goodrich from 1923 until retiring in 1960. Mr. Jagodzinski also was employed at various times in Medford at the Medford Canning Factory and Hurd Milwork.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Violet) Kostner, Menominee, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Knitter and Mrs. Leo (Elizabeth) Wallner, both of Edgar; two brothers, Leo, Edgar, and John, Janesville; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by five brothers.
