David George Falk, age 54, of Mazomanie, passed away peacefully on March 21st at his home after a two year struggle with heart disease. David was born in Norman, Oklahoma, on January 8, 1964, of Canadian immigrant parents. He moved to La Crosse, Wisconsin, in 1967 where he graduated from La Crosse Central High School in 1982. He later attended Western Wisconsin Technical Institute. He completed basic training, with the Marine Corps, in California and served in the Reserves. After holding various jobs in La Crosse, David settled into a 28 year career with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation in Madison. David was a quintessential hardworking Wisconsin guy: he could fix just about anything and was always willing to help others. He enjoyed working on cars and home improvements. He enjoyed traveling, singing karaoke, and telling stories just like his maternal grandfather.

David is survived by his loving wife of 7 ½ years, Kathy (Wild) Falk; his sister Brenda Falk (Oscar Cruz) and niece Victoria Cruz-Falk of Washington, D.C.; father George Falk of San Benito, Texas, and his two feline children Sophie and Allie. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins in Canada. David was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Falk, of La Crosse.

The family would like to thank the staffs at UW Hospital Heart Failure, Unity Point Meriter Hospital, and Agrace HospiceCare for the care and support David received during his illness. A celebration of David’s life will be held on Saturday, June 30th, 2018 at David and Kathy’s residence in Mazomanie from 2 to 6 P.M. Any memorials may be made at the Humane Society of your choice in honor of David’s life-long love for animals, especially cats.
