Darlene K. Goodwin, 75 years of age, of DeWitt passed away at her home on Thursday, March 22, 2018. She was born on January 3, 1943 at Sioux City, IA to Ernest Ray and Thelma (Baker) Stieneke, and was a 1960 graduate of Heelan High School in Sioux City. Darlene and Teddy Goodwin were married on August 19, 1988 in Iowa, and they moved to DeWitt from Lincoln in 2001. She had been employed as a correction officer by the State of Nebraska at the Lincoln Corrections Center. She was a member of the DeWitt Senior Diners; DeWitt American Legion Auxiliary; and the Rebels Car Club in Lincoln. Darlene was a Husker and Kansas City Royals fan.

Survivors include his children, Dawn Fitch and husband Matt of Creighton, NE, Pam Eickenberry and husband Pete of Gresham, OR, Scott Arneson and wife Cathi of DeWitt, Kevin Arneson and wife Karen of Greely, CO, Julie Spreitzer and husband Steve of Omaha, Keith Goodwin and wife Irene of DeWitt, and Billy Goodwin of Plattsmouth, NE; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother Gary Stieneke and wife Joni of South Sioux City, NE; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Teddy (2009); twin sister Donna Lembcke, grandson Timothy Fitch; and great-grandson Jackson Dean Kurth.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in DeWitt with Reverend Sean Koos officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1-8:00 PM Monday at the Venrick-Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in DeWitt with the family greeting friends from 6-7:30, and at the church after 1:00 Tuesday. Family prayer service at 1:45 PM Tuesday at the church. Memorial to the family's choice with the funeral home in charge.
