Margaret McAdams, 92, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Teague Nursing Home. Burial will be at Dew Cemetery.

Margaret was born on September 23, 1927, in Wortham, Texas, to the late Thomas Carroll and Addie Lois Stubbs Ballard, the third of 15 children. Margaret grew up in Jacksonville and graduated from Jacksonville High School.

She attended Lon Morris College for one year before she married Horace Lee McAdams on July 24, 1948. They lived in Clute for many years before moving to Simsboro. After the passing of her husband, Margaret moved to West Columbia to live with her daughter, Dolores, where she lived for 25 years before returning to Teague. All of her life she was dedicated to taking care of her family and other children. She enjoyed reading.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Lee McAdams; three sisters; and two younger brothers.

Survivors include her daughters, Evelyn Conkling and her husband, Carl, and Dolores Martin and her husband, Steve; grandchildren: Eric Martin and his wife, Karla, Amy Martin Davenport and her husband, Joshua, and Emily Martin; great-grandchildren: Eva Martin, Colin Davenport, Jocelyn Davenport, Patience Davenport, Tambre Davenport, Jeremiah Davenport, and Owen Davenport; nine siblings; numerous other relatives and many friends.
