Born on November 22, 1929 in Portland, Oregon, Phyllis was the only child of Clifford R. and Madeline Ruby Ringle.
Phyllis attended Chapman Grade School while her family resided in Portland. Her parents then purchased a small farm in Tigard in 1941 and she attended Tigard High School.
Phyllis met her husband Jack one morning while waiting at the highway to catch the bus to work at Oregon Mutual. She was offered a ride from Jack, the son of the family who owned the farm across the highway.
Jack Moore and Phyllis were married on April 11, 1948 at the home of the Rev. James Osborne and celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 1998.
Phyllis was employed at Farmer's Cooperative Creamery for nearly 42 years, retiring on May 29, 1998.
Throughout her life Phyllis enjoyed a special connection with all of the dogs and cats who were an important part of her family.
Phyllis was a talented seamstress and along with her tailoring talents, created the majority of clothes for herself and her daughters.
She enjoyed bowling, golf, travel, camping, music, dancing, flower gardening and nature. She was an avid walker, and if you were a bird, the best dining could be found in her backyard. Since she did not want to be "left at home", Phyllis learned to fish and hunt, from local rivers and mountains, to the Pacific Ocean and the high desert of Hart Mountain.
Phyllis's giving nature was evident in her numerous blood donations to Red Cross, resulting in a tremendous number of gallons donated over the years. A very important part of her life was her three times a week workout sessions with her Cardiac Rehab family at Willamette Valley Medical Center for the last five years.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, in October 1998 and is survived by her son, John (Turia); daughters: Linda, Sandra and Terri (Ron) Hearon; and grandchildren: Derek and Ian Moore and Ryan and Kathryn Hearon.
A very special thank you from Phyllis and her family for all of the excellent care and compassion provided by Doctors Kenneth Schmidt, Eugene Spear, George Khoury and John Neeld, her care providers at Willamette Valley Medical Center, her doctors and care providers at OHSU, Life Care Center of McMinnvile and Kindred Hospice.
Memorial donations may be made to Willamette Valley Cancer Foundation, Homeward Bound Pets and Sacred Flight (www.sacredflight.org).
Services will be held Friday, March 30, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Macy and Son, McMinnville.
Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park, McMinnville, OR.
