COX FUNERAL HOME

SHREVEPORT, LA. A Celebration of Life for Jacquelyn “Jackie” Duncan Wallace of Shreveport, 91, formerly of Bastrop, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 26, 2018 at Cox Funeral Home, Bastrop with Brother Richard Gambill officiating. The family will receive visitors at 1:00 at the funeral home. Jackie passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 21, 2018. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Jackie was born in Mangham, LA, May 3, 1926. She was married to Bobby Ford Wallace and they raised their 3 children in Bastrop. Jackie loved nothing more than opening her home to family and friends, as well as being actively involved in her church, First Baptist Church, Bastrop and Garden Club. After their move to Shreveport, she acquired her real estate license, and owned a retail business.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, son, Robert Edwin “Beau” and Marcia Wallace of Shreveport, daughter Millicent Stafford of Longview, TX, and son, Aubrey Jackson “Jack” & Bevelyn Bush Wallace of Point Clear, Alabama. Jackie was lovingly known as “Mimi” to her grandchildren; Shane Cain and wife Jennifer, Shelli Barnette Engle and husband Tony, Christopher Benton Barnette, Amy Wallace Cowan and husband Eric, Timothy Jackson Wallace and wife Rachel, Paige Wallace Little and husband Ryan, and Brett Alexander Wallace; seven great-grandchildren, and many special nieces and nephews.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Mamie Duncan, her husband of 62 years, Bobby Ford Wallace, her brothers Cecil Duncan, David Duncan, Tom Duncan, and John Duncan, sisters Pauline Duncan and Lucille Duncan Meador and son-in-law Gerald Stafford.

The family would like to thank all of those who have helped in Jackie’s care in recent years, as her health began to decline. In particular, special thanks to Garden Park Nursing and Rehab of Shreveport and Gladys Walker for their devoted care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church, 620 East Madison Avenue, Bastrop, Louisiana 71220 or to the charity of your choice in memory of Jackie.
