PENDLETON — Paul V. Kimble, 73, died April 5, 2007, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, following an extended illness.
He was born June 12, 1933, in Anderson. He resided in Brea, Calif., for years and moved back Madison County in 1995.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He had been employed by Western Brass for 20 years before retiring in 1993. Prior to Western Brass, he had worked for 15 years at American Metals.
He was a member of Ford Street United Methodist Church. He was an avid bowler and was on bowling leagues at Cooper's Sport Bowl in Anderson. He was also a fisherman and a photographer.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Jackie (Stewart) Kimble, whom he married Nov. 27, 1983, in Brea, Calif.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul Dean and Risa Kimble of Farmland, Ind., Rick and Shannon DeShields of Cordova, Tenn., and Rob and Jenn DeShields of Huntington Beach, Calif; brother, Jack and Jeannine Kimble of Hagerstown; sisters, Phyllis Burke of Lapel and Nancy and Ron Allen of Moonsville; five grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are special family members, Larry Bond, Gary Bond, Kavin Bond and Les Alfrey, and a special pal, Dick Klute of Anderson.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Cluster (Reeves) Kimble; a son, Chuck Kimble; a sister, Shirley; and two brothers, Clay and Dale.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, 229 S. Rangeline Road, Anderson, officiated by Pastor Mark Helm. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given through the funeral home to the AIDS Foundation.
