Obituary for John F. Hinman-unknown newspaper-[Transcribed from burial permit] "Again the Death Angel has entered our community, and taken away another aged resident, John F. Hinman who was born at Vevay, Ind., September 16th, 1841, and passed away at his home in Aurora at twenty minutes after six o'clock, Tuesday morning, September 19th, 1916, aged 75 years and 2 days. He enlisted in the U.S. service in the Civil War July 4th, 1861, in Company F, twenty-second regiments, Indiana Volunteer Infantry, and served for four years when he received his final discharge, June 17th, 1865. He was married to Alice Mitchell at Lawrenceberg, Ind., November 23rd, 1881. To this union were born, two daughters and so, Mrs. John Young of West Aurora and Ethel and John Hinman of this city."
