She was an active member of Maine Women in the Arts of Kennebunk, and Fine Art America, where her artwork can be viewed at fineartamerica.com. Additionally, she was a substitute school teacher in the Old Orchard Beach and Saco Middle Schools. She recently published a Children's Book, "Little Bit Comes to America", which is available on Amazon.com. She enjoyed all God's creatures, Alvin the chipmunk, 30 Morning Doves, and her favorite feline buddy and protector, Whiskers.
In addition to her husband, Charles "Chuck" of Biddeford, Stella is survived by three daughters, Stacia Russell and husband, Mike, of Atkinson, Heather Mamos and husband, Chris, of Concord, NH, and Colleen Gauntt and husband, Ben, of Concord, NH; as well as a brother, Arthur Drinkwater and his wife, Marie, of LaGrange. She also leaves five grandchildren, Lauren Lamberger, Ian Mamos, and Allison Mamos, Tiana Gauntt and Sean Mamos, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, and a special son-in-law, Curt Lamberger.
Friends are invited to call from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018, at Sts. Francis Xavier and Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Milo. Burial will be in the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery, Milo, in the spring. Stella's family asks that you remember her by purchasing her book and donating it to a local library, or making a contribution to a local humane society or rescuing a dog.
