WHITEHOUSE - Services for Virginia Atwood, 88, Whitehouse, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler, with Brother Randal Brown officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Atwood died April 7, 2007, in Tyler.

She was born Nov. 9, 1918, in Waterloo, Iowa, to the late Ellis and Sadie Tisdale. She lived in Smith County most of her life and was a member of First Baptist Church of Whitehouse where she was active in Day Care Center, Happy Hearts and Hope Class. She was also active in Library, AARP, Widows Support and FCE Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, B.J> Rusty Atwood, one brother and one sister.

Survivors include sons, Gordon Wayne Atwood, Tyler, and Sammy Lowell Atwood, Crystal Beach; daughter, Gay Hutchins, Whitehouse; sisters, Lola Snyder, Port Arthur, and Dorothy Berry, California; six grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Mason Martin, Blake Scott, Chase Scott, Brock Brown, Josh Julian and Todd Murphy.

Honorary pallbearers are Royce Hutchins, Larry Atwood, Ronnie Atwood, Johnny Paul Atwood, Fred Wayne Atwood, Roy Jack Atwood, Greg Snyder and Scott Snyder.

Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
