L. Mike Blakley, 72, of Findlay passed away at Blanchard Valley Hospital on Sunday, March 18, 2018. Mike was born to Eugene Huether and Joan Blakley, who preceded him in death. He was married to Zelma E. Beardsley on July 18, 1964 and she passed away on May 9, 2016. Mike is survived by four brothers; Jim Huether of Findlay, Joe Huether of Rhode Island, David Blakley of Carey, Dan Huether of Findlay and one step-brother Walter Huether of Oklahoma. His five sisters; Jackie Huether of Van Buren, Rita Huether of Findlay, Connie Ish of Benton Ridge, Jan Ickes of Findlay and Brenda Beck of Findlay. He is also survived by his grandchildren Keri (Jim), Michael, Alexis, Justina and Sierra. Mike was preceded in death by his sons; Larry B. Blakley, Lonnie L. Blakley, R. Jason Blakley and Michael S. Blakley; one step-sister RuthAnn Barringer; and one grandson Michael Daniel Blakley. Mike attended the New Creation Church of Findlay. He was also a member of the Findlay Moose Lodge #698, Findlay AMVETS Post #21, and DAV Buddy Chapter #43. Mike also enjoyed going to 50 North. Memorial contributions can be made in Mike’s name to the Humane Society of Hancock County. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 PM at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. There will be a funeral service at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Shane Helms officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay.
