Stella B. Ashfield, 80, of Mahanoy City, died Sunday evening at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital, she was a daughter of the late Wincenty and Jadwiga Sielicki.

She was a 1955 graduate of J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah, and had been employed by Mrs. T's, also of Shenandoah. She was a member of St. Paul's UCC, Mahanoy City, and the ladies auxiliary of American Legion Post 74. She was a faithful blood donor for the American Red Cross.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Edward, in 2004, and a sister, Dorothy Wawro.

Survivors include a daughter, Lori Ashfield; son, Eric Ashfield; a sister, Regina Kurtz; grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call and visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at David D. Jarrett Funeral Home, Mahanoy City. Interment will be private.
