Matthew B. "Matt" Ward, 24, of Albany, GA, died March 17, 2018 in a one vehicle automobile accident in Terrell County, GA. Services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Lee County, GA. Pastor Steve Youngblood will officiate. The family will have a private interment service in Fairmont, GA. A native of Tyler, TX, Matt grew up in Cuthbert and Albany. He had recently been living in Fairmont and Lagrange. Matt attended Sherwood Christian Academy where he was on the football and baseball teams. He was a Rodeo Cowboy and very talented Musician. Matt was a member of Sovereign Baptist Church, the Professional Cowboy Association, the Southern Professional Rodeo Association and the National Cowboy Association. Survivors include his parents, Jennifer and Rick Ward, his sisters, Anna Beth Ward and Sarah Ward all of Albany, GA, his maternal grandmother, Beth Lent and her husband, Gordon of Dawson, GA and his paternal grandmother, Marti Tatum of Albany, GA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
