Paula, 68, of Eaton Rapids, MI passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018. Paula was the daughter of Charles and Frances (Crowell) Penhorwood.
She moved to Eaton Rapids in the 4th grade and attended school there through graduation in 1967.
Paula worked in the insurance industry as a claims analyst for Messa Insurance and later for CC Systems, retiring in 1995.
She enjoyed spending time traveling, painting ceramics, scrapbooking but most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and cherished every moment spent with them. Paula also loved hot air balloons and visited Albuquerque, NM International Balloon Festival, which was one of the largest in the nation.
She is survived by her husband, LeRoy Nelson; son, Matthew (Suzalyn) Nelson; daughters, Amanda (Scott) Canfield, Jennifer (John Yauney) Nelson; grandchildren, Chelsea Smith, Dominique Sumerix, Justin Nelson, Evelyn Canfield, Sophia Canfield; sisters, Brenda Fransisco, Teresa (Dave) Johnson, Barbara (Stacy) Sutfin and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sandra Leeper.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Skinner Funeral Homes, Eaton Rapids Chapel.
