Brenda James Foster, 76, of Albemarle, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 in her home. Her celebration of life service will be 3:30 PM Sunday, March 25, 2018 at North Albemarle Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Lynch and Rev. George Mullen officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 prior to the service at the church.
Brenda was born February 21, 1942 and was the daughter of the late Lonnie Winfred James and Lila Mae Newsome James. Mrs. Foster was a former employee of the Stanly News and Press. She was a member of Albemarle First Assembly. Brenda loved to read and enjoyed traveling to the beach.
Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by her husband, Carrol Foster, on August 20, 2015. She is survived by a daughter, Misty Dick Vaughn and husband Steve of Locust, NC, a grandson Matthew Vaughn, a brother Lewis James and wife Brenda of Albemarle, NC, sister Carol Shank of Albemarle, NC, stepson Richard Foster and wife Patty of China Grove, NC, stepdaughter Carol Jo Benoy and husband Jack of Albemarle, NC, three step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be given to Hospice of Stanly and Uwharrie, 960 N. First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001 or North Albemarle Baptist Church, 401 Park Ridge Road, Albemarle, NC 28001.
