Mark Schwede, loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, 57, Bismarck, left this earth to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on March 18, 2018, after a short stay at a local nursing home in Bismarck.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 22, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Robb Dale officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Wednesday, March 21, at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service.

Mark was born May 26, 1960, in Chehalis, WA, to Arlie and Pauline (Clinton) Schwede. He was raised in Washington state until his family moved to Ellendale, North Dakota. The family moved to Bismarck where he graduated from school. As a young man, Mark worked as a cook/manager of local restaurants until he realized he wanted to work with tools, etc. Mark loved his work as a maintenance person for his brother-in-law, owner of ServiceMaster (now ISI Services).

Mark married Pamela Nygaard on Oct. 19, 1979, at Bismarck Church of God. Mark's real love for work was as a "shade tree mechanic." When Mark wasn't working maintenance, he loved to work on cars. He loved the "old" vehicles; 1967 Tempest, 1952 International pickup (aka Sanford), and a 1972 Ford pickup. Mark was an active guitar player and worship singer at Bethel Assembly of God until the last few years when his health started failing.

Mark was a "gentle" man. He loved spending time with family fishing in his spare time. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Mark is survived by his wife, Pam, Bismarck; son, Jason (Amanda) Schwede, granddaughters, Elexis and Hanna; sister, Marvel (David) Kalappa; son-in-law, Joseph Wilson, Bismarck; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Krista Wilson, and Zoe Schwede; his brother, Arlie Jr. Schwede; and sister, Rose Schanz.
