On September 13, 2017 God called Blanche Lee Robinson his “Good and Faithful Servant” into Eternal Rest.

The beloved mother, grandma, Ms. Blanche or cousin “Blanchie” was born August 23, 1922 in Webb, Mississippi. She was an angel sent to Jesse Branson and Estine McGee. Being an only child, she followed her mother to Seattle in the winter of 1944 with her two sons. She was wed for 36 years in holy matrimony to Array Robinson until his passing in 1996.

In 1969 the family moved to Tacoma, WA. Here she made new friends in her neighborhood and community. She always had a kind word, listening ear and a meal for all she met. Even in her last days she would say give my baby something to eat. Many are here today because they had an encounter with a sweet, gentle soul who had an endless supply of love. She modeled the love of I Corinthians 13 and the “blessed woman” of Proverbs 31.

Blanche united with New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ in 1985 where she served faithfully until her health declined. Through the years, Mother Robinson stayed with God. Her faith never wavered even when the doctors told her 15 years ago that medically they couldn’t do anything more for her. But with God nothing is impossible and He blessed her with many more years.

Blanche had the privilege of traveling with her daughter to many places in this country. They attended family reunions and vacationed in Illinois, Georgia, Indiana, Wisconsin, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Missouri and more. She was an avid Seahawks fan, loved to read her Bible and tap her foot to gospel music. She often expressed to family and friends the goodness of the Lord. In her last days she said over and over “I love God” and “yes Lord”.

Blanche was 23 years old when her mother died. She continually prayed to God to let her live until her children were grown. As you can see He answers prayers exceedingly and abundantly more than we can ask or think. At the time of her passing there were five generations in the family.
In 2003, Blanche moved to Federal Way. She was living at home when she went to be with Jesus. Her passing is a great loss to her family. She leaves a devoted and loving family to mourn her memory; two sons: T L aka Noche (Donita) of Iowa, Jeffrey of Rochester; four daughters Earnestine, Charlene, JoAnne and Kathleen; three grandchildren she raised from infancy, April Renee (Tony), Danielle, and Robert all of Tacoma and Federal Way. Her descendants include 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

A great cloud of witnesses welcomed Blanche Robinson in heaven among them her husband Array, children Edgar Lee Oliver and Rosie Lee Powell Smith, grandsons babies Anthony and Andrew and her very special cousin and second mother Hazel Brandon to name a few.
“Life is changed, not ended. When this earthly dwelling lies in death, we gain an everlasting dwelling place in heaven. Mom, rest in peace.”

Visitation for Blanche will be held 10:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at Mountain View Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
A Home Going Service Celebrating the life of Blanche will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 23, 2017 at New Jerusalem Church Of God In Christ, 1623 S 11th St, Tacoma, 98405. Interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Park, Lakewood.
