She was born Aug. 22, 1950, in Waterbury, Connecticut to Eugene and Barbara Lefevre Moriarty. She attended high school in Waterbury, where she studied fashion design, but went on to use her sewing skills in interior decorating. She married her adoring husband, Richard Marshall, in 1970 and they settled in Torrington, Connecticut, until 1986, when they moved their family to LaRue County.
Virginia was a kind and gentle lady who loved animals, her farm and most of all her family. She enjoyed listening to country music, being outside in the sunshine and spending time near the ocean. She will be greatly missed.
Virginia Marshall was preceded in death by her mother and father; a brother, Edward Moriarty; a sister, Barbara Moriarty Flinter; and her father-in-law, Richard B. Marshall.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; four children, Richard (Katy), Shannon (Ryan), Virginia (Alan) and Jonathan (Kayla); a sister, Cynthia Famigletti; and nine beautiful grandchildren, Tara, Sorcha, Richard, Duncan, Lynnlee, Allison, Dexter, Henry and Cooper; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral for Virginia Jean Marshall is at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at William R. Rust Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Jonathan Marshall officiating.Burial follows in South Fork Church Cemetery.
