Audrey Isabelle Whitaker, age 90 of Klein Center in West Burlington, formerly of Wapello, died Monday March 19, 2018 at the Klein Center. The daughter of Paul and Clara (Moeller) Griffin, she was born January 14, 1928 at Spirit Lake. The family moved to Wapello in the early 1940s. On October 5, 1946 she married Alfred Whitaker at Wapello; he died February 1, 2004.

She was a graduate of the Wapello High School. She worked at Thatcher Glass, Sylvania, and I.A.A. P. She was a member of the Grandview Community Bible Church and had attended Solid Rock Baptist Church in Wapello.

Survivors include: three sons, Mike and Sue Whitaker of Burlington; Roddy and Dorothy Whitaker of Mediapolis; Craig and Jackie Whitaker of Oakville; nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter, infant grandchild, three sisters and five brothers.
The funeral service will be Saturday March 24, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello, with Rev. Darryl Erickson officiating. Interment will follow at the Wapello Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Dudgeon-McCulley, where the family will meet with friends from 6-8:00 p.m. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice.
