The daughter of Marcus and Sarah "Sallie" (Thompson) Jones, former wife of Theodore W. Strader, and widow of Louis Young, Mitzi resided on Old Henry Road in Anchorage. She died at Baptist Hospital East at the age of 84, and was interred at Cave Hill on 22 February 1992.
