Mary L. McDaniel, 89, of Aiken, SC formerly of Glasgow, WV, was the daughter of the late John S. and Sada Mae Higginbotham Barnette and was a resident of Glasgow, WV for 83 years, then moved to Aiken SC March 2012. Preceding her in death are Melvin O. "Mac" McDaniel, her husband of 50 years; sisters, Reva Cole, Naomi Moore and Ruth Samples, brothers; Doyle and John Odus Barnette. Survivors include two sons; James D. and Gregory S., and one brother; Orville D. Barnette Mary was a member of the Glasgow United Methodist Church and a graduate of East Bank High School. She was an employee of the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company in Montgomery, WV for seventeen years and worked as an operator, directory assistant and business office representative for residential and business accounts for the Montgomery area. Her hobbies were sewing, picture framing, reading and cooking.
