Jeff served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and he retired from the Akron Beacon Journal after 28 years in 1996. He went All-Conference in football and basketball while playing for Manchester High School and he continued his passion for sports, playing softball for 20 years, coaching for both CYO basketball and Walsh Jesuit's basketball team. Jeff also served as the athletic director for St. Paul Grade School. He was a longtime member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents; Jeff was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Lee and brother Chip Dunn. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Pat; sons, Chris (Michelle), Andy (Jordan) and Steve (Jackie); brothers, Mike (Cindy) and Kevin (Theresa); grandchildren, Eric, Ian, Ryan, Drew, AJ and Ashling; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Homes, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S Main St. in Akron. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St. in Akron, followed by interment at Ohio Western Reserve Nation Cemetery at 12:30. Additionally, a Celebration of Life will be held following the interment, starting at 2 p.m. at the Turkeyfoot Sportsman Club, 4551 Dusty's Road, Akron 44319. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
