She was the wife of 50 years of the late Edward A. Holmes until his death on September 18, 2001.
Born in Abington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Musselman and Miriam (Loux) Moyer. She was a 1950 graduate of Souderton High School, Souderton, PA.
Mrs. Holmes was employed for a combined 40 years as a materials handler for Merck, Sharp & Dohme (now Merck & Co.), North Wales, PA, where she drove the transport train delivering materials to the various departments, until retiring in 1994. Earlier, she worked in the Flu Vaccine Department for the company where she candled eggs. Following her retirement, Mrs. Holmes and her husband became ordained ministers. They served the Campers Bible Ministry, traveling around the nation in their motorhome and proclaiming the Gospel.
She was a member of Victory Fellowship Church, Tylersport, PA. An accomplished piano player, Mrs. Holmes also loved to sing.
She is survived by a daughter, Debbie L. Bissland and her husband Donald, of Pottstown, PA; six grandchildren, Derek, Colin and Darron Holmes, Aaron Holmes, and Cory and Stone Bissland; two brothers, James Moyer and his wife Joan, of Souderton, PA, and Jay Moyer, of Memphis, TN; and three sisters, (twin sister) Jeanette Darrah, of Telford, PA, Juanita Freed and her husband Lincoln, of Dingman’s Ferry, PA, and Judith Schnable and her longtime companion John Feriod, of Furlong, PA. She was preceded in death by three sons, Stephen Holmes, in 2017, Gary Holmes, in 2004, and Brian Holmes, in 1989; three sisters, Jean Petrucci, Joyce Featherstone, and Marjorie Moyer; and two brothers, John and Joel Moyer.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, Perkasie, PA.
