ANDREWS, FRANK
1937 - 2018

Frank was born in Blackwell, Derbyshire, England July 19, 1937 to Arthur Andrews and Emily (Clayton) Andrews.

He passed away Feb. 25, 2018.

He grew up and went to school in Newton, Derbyshire.

He furthered his education at Salford Univ. in Manchester with a degree in civil engineering in 1958.

After graduation, he worked on construction of several motorways in England.

While in England, he married his first wife, Mary, and had two children, Karen and Martyn.
In 1969 he moved to Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

While there, he worked for several architectural firms doing construction site inspections.

He became interested in local politics, and in 1974 was elected to Brampton City Council as Alderman for Ward 1 and served there until 1985.

In 1986 he became a member of the Regional Municipality of Peel Council, where he served until 1991.

He enjoyed the time he spent in local and regional government very much.

In 1992 they moved to Gainesville, Florida, where Frank worked 10 years for Lowes Home Improvement until he retired.

Frank was involved in road rally racing while in England, and he had some funny and harrowing stories to tell about it.

He was an avid, life long English football (soccer) fan, and loved the Derby Rams.

In Canada and in Gainesville he coached boys soccer teams.

After moving to Gainesville, he also became a Gator fan.

Some of his other favorite things were meeting friends at The Queen's Arms Pub to watch British football, gardening, and a lively political discussion.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Wildlife Federation, an organization Frank always supported. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Meadows Funeral Home, Gainesville, FL.
