Jamie Dean Wright, 45, of Lake Charles died Thursday, July 31, 2008, in New Iberia.
Mr. Wright was born in Kinder, raised in Longville and lived the past 18 years in Lake Charles. He retired as an operator for Jefferson Smurfit after 22 years of service and had worked the past four years as an operator for Pump Tech of Louisiana Inc.
Mr. Wright was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was the time he shared with his grandkids. He will be most remembered for his character, his spirit and for having never met a stranger.
He leaves to honor his memory his loving wife of 18 years, Brigitte Shreve Wright of Lake Charles; two daughters, Andrea Mier of Sulphur and Robin Piirainen of Lake Charles; one son, Jack Piirainen of Lake Charles; four grandchildren, Alex Mier, Cameron Mier, Michael Mier and Carley Mier, all of Lake Charles; one brother, Dewey Wright and wife Linda of DeRidder; five sisters, Frieda Ham and husband Tom of Buckholts, Texas, Pauline Roach and husband Michael of Westlake, Sherry Granger and husband Will of DeQuincy, Brenda Shirley and husband Preston of Longville, and Lois Parker and husband Billy of Singer; his father-in-law, Charles Shreve of Lake Charles; and his son-in-law, Shannon Mier of Sulphur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bessie Wright Cooley; one brother, John Wright; and one sister, Diane Hall.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 3, in Johnson Funeral Home. The Revs. Grady O’Neal and Larry Talent will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation begins at 8 a.m.
