Funeral services for Otis Gilborne, a retired South Dakota cafe owner, who had lived in Santa Rosa, Calif., for the past nine years, were held from the Welti Funeral Parlor at 2:00 p. m., Thursday. Mr. Gilborne died at Memorial Hospital, Monday, April 25, 1955 following a month's illness. He was 74.

Burial was in Odd Fellow Lawn Cemetery at Santa Rosa.

Mr. Gilborne was born in Illinois. Later he was engaged in the well drilling business at Aberdeen as a young man until his marriage in 1910 to Elizabeth Baker. The couple then moved to a farm 25 miles northwest of Aberdeen. Due to poor health they left the farm and operated cafes in Barnard and later in Groton. In 1942, they disposed of the Yellowstone Cafe here and purchase a theatre at Waconia, Minn., retiring from an active business life in 1945 and moving to Santa Rosa, Calif., to make their home.

Mr. Gilborne's genial disposition and fine personality won the admiration of a large circle of friends while in business here, who deeply regret to learn of his departure.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Ruth) Granberg and Mrs. Nelda Santman, both of Santa Rosa; also a granddaughter, Linda Granberg; two brothers, George, Santa Rosa, and Seth, Aberdeen; nephew, Davis Gilborne, Aberdeen and nieces, Adaline Harris, San Francisco, and Veeta Davidson, Fort Worth, Texas.
