Charles M. McCurry, age 75, of Chuckey, the South Central Community, went home to be with the Lord early Friday at U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville.

He retired from BOSCH Company and attended Liberty Freewill Baptist Church. He loved his church, his family, and enjoyed camping and fishing as long as his health permitted. He was caretaker of Liberty Cemetery for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years: Frances Copp McCurry; one daughter and son-in-law: Debbie and Bland Justis of Greeneville; one son and daughter-in-law: Gregory Charles and Loretta McCurry of Chuckey; grandchildren: Aaron McCurry, Dustin McCurry, Samuel Justis, Amber Justis, Angel Jones, Peyton Ball, Paige Summers, Natalie Reaves; great-grandchildren: Jacob Justis, Tony Greer, and Andy Jones Jr.; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Howard and Ruby McCurry and Joe and Sandy Laws all of Chuckey, Jay Laws of Tampa, FL; one sister and brother-in-law: Shirley and Tony Brokish of Rhode Island; mother-in-law: Jennie Copp; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law: Linda and Bobby Holt, Adell Copp; several nieces and nephews; numerous special friends, including Pat and Leon Jones, Bobby Laws, Johnny Broyles, his friends from Shorty’s Restaurant and Davita Dialysis.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Kate Laws Holt, who raised him.

The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 p.m. on Saturday at Liberty Freewill Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 6 p.m. The Rev. John Buchanan and the Rev. Brian Brown will officiate.

Family and friends are asked to meet at Liberty Cemetery at 2 p.m. Sunday for the committal service.

Active pallbearers will be John Arrowood, Sammy Greene, Sidney Greene, Jeff Brobeck, Jimmy Hope, Michael Hope, and Larry Hensley. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church.
