Elizabeth Quellanette Strickland, 74, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, September 25, 2016, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald. Her sons, Rev. Jason Strickland and Jim Strickland will deliver eulogies, assisted by the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Sam Maves officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Strickland was born July 25, 1942, in Valdosta, Georgia, to the late James Edward & Virginia Duke Crowley. A 1960 graduate of Fitzgerald High School, she graduated Riverside School of Cosmetology in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a licensed beautician in Florida and Georgia. Mrs. Strickland worked as a kindergarten aide for many years and was most recently the hospitality coordinator for De Chappell at both Edward Jones Investments and Victory Financial Services. She loved to garden and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was an active member of Arbor Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years in the five-year-old class as well as the Lois Hobby Adult class. She served on the counting committee for over 40 years, served as food coordinator, and sang with the Arbor Lights.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jason & Michelle Strickland of Cadiz, Kentucky and Jim & Shannon Strickland of Tifton; grandchildren: Noah Zachary Strickland, James Elmo Strickland, Jr., Mary Elizabeth Strickland, and Andrew Robert Strickland; a sister, Faye & Robert Gaines of Yulee, Florida; and a brother, John A. Crowley of Albany. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Robert E. “Bob’ Strickland and a brother, James Edward Crowley, Jr.
