On Nov. 8, 1877 in Victoria, MN, she was married by her uncle Father Valentine Stimmler to John Weber (1851-1926), an immigrant from Vas, Hungary (later, Austria), who had arrived in the U.S. as a boy in 1863. Ensuing censuses variously name Austria and Hungary as John's birthplace. He had been born after the Hungarian Revolution of 1848 and emigrated during a tumultuous period when the region was under continual strife, but his family evidently identified as Hungarian (or census takers variously named the birthplace based on what it was at the time of each census).
Witnesses to the wedding of Mary and John were Mary's father Joseph Schaaf and Catherine (Cate) Fesler. The couple had 5 children, 2 sons and 3 daughters, between 1878 and 1899. The first was Anton Joseph (see below). Genevieve (1891-1981) married Joseph Bickmann, Vincent John (1894-1946) married Ruth Gail Bradley, Georgena (1897-1987) married John Benedict Fleming, and Rosalie (1899-1959) married Arthur Frederick Roufs. All but Rosalie had children.
The Webers lived in rural Dublin Township MN and eventually in Murdock village. The 1880 census made on June 9 in Dublin lists John as a hotel keeper, living with his wife and 6 month old son Joseph, though Mary also appears in the Dublin census of 7-8 June 1880 among the list of Joseph Schaaf's children living on the family farm. In the 1885 MN census, they appear in Dublin: John age 34, Mary age 26, and Anthony age 7. As there is no Joseph listed in 1885 and after this date no Anthony, this first child must have been named Anthony Joseph (or Joseph Anthony).
In 1900, the census for Dublin Township describes John as a farmer; Mary and John have 4 children living at home (Genevieve, Vincent, Georgena, and Rosalie). Although she has lost one son (Joseph Anton) at a young age, she is reported as having given birth only 4 times, with 4 children alive. In the census of 1910, 58 year old John is still farming; he and Mary still have their 4 children living at home.
In the 1920 census, the last that lists her, Mary lived in Murdock village with her 69 year old husband and their youngest child, daughter Rosalie, age 20. John is a "section laborer" working for the railroad. According to Sacred Heart records, Joseph died in 1926. Mary's own death is recorded as 1925 in their records.
PLEASE NOTE: The John and Mary Magdalena Weber who are represented in Findagrave memorials #44218859 and 44218960 are NOT the same couple and that Mary Weber was not Mary Magdalena Schaaf (1858-1925). (Also, there is a MN death record from Hennepin Cty for a Mary S. Weber in 26 Oct. 1922 but this is evidently not Mary Schaaf Weber.)
