Orville Mennen of Lafayette died on Wednesday December 21, 2005 at Home Hospital. Born September 12, 1912 in Lafayette, he has been a lifelong resident of the city. He married Laverna Shepherd on June 27, 1936 and she preceded him on May 31, 2003. He was a graduate of Wea High School. He worked for Dean's Foods for over 20 years retiring in 1971. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving are 2 daughters Jackie (Harry) Ford of Indianapolis, and Janet Carter of Lafayette. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a great great grandson. He has been preceded in death by his parents Ernest & Elizabeth (Smith) Mennen, a daughter, a great grandson, a brother, and 3 sisters.
