Kathleen LeeAnn Swanson, 65, passed away March 14, 2018 at the Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls, SD.
Kathy was born December 9th 1952 to Richard and Ruth (Edwards) Swanson. She lived on a farm near Larchwood, IA until the age of 8. The family then moved to a farm near Humboldt, SD where she attended Montrose School Graduating in 1971.
Kathy was united in marriage to Paul Sieverding in December 1976, traveling with him to Germany while he was serving in the Army for 9 years. Kathy and Paul divorced in June of 1993.
Kathys favorite past times were baking and being with family, the more the merrier. Kathy was like her Dad in that she loved to be around people and hear life stories. She also enjoyed the times that she could do her volunteer work at Mesiah New Hope Lutheran Church. It gave her great joy to pitch in and help whenever she could.
Survivors include her two siblings: Paul (Tammy) Swanson and Sally (Barry) Muller; niece: Stacey (George) Hawkins; nephews, Zach Swanson and Zane Swanson; great nephew, Simon Hawkins and Aunts: Priscilla Swanson and Mary Aschoff. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Ruth (Edwards) Swanson.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm Monday, March 19, 2018 at Heritage Funeral Home with a visitation beginning at 2:00pm.
