Victor L. Weber, Jr., 82, of Jacksonville, IL and formerly of Northbrook, IL died Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville.

He was born November 16, 1935 in Stillwater, OK, the son of Victor L. Sr. and Dorothy Jane Stinson Weber. He married Lucerne C. Parks on June 16, 1957 in Ponca City, OK and she survives.

He is also survived by five children, Natalie Lira (Pete) of Jacksonville, Angela McClane (George) of San Diego, CA, Stephanie Lee Poetz of Graz, Austria, Victor K. Weber (Jessica) of Soldier, ID, and Zack Weber (Lisa) of Morton Grove; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; two siblings, Jimmie Weber (Paulette) of Hot Springs, AR, and Norma J. Treat of Boise, ID; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Weber and Malcolm Weber.

Victor received a master’s degree from Oklahoma State University and completed further studies at the University of Pittsburgh prior to embarking on a distinguished career in public school teaching in many locations. Most recently, he taught at Glenbrook North High School. He had a talent for coaching young people in almost every sport all through the academic year, yet his true passion was found coaching high school varsity soccer.

Victor was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and also served with the US Army from 1957 to 1965. He was a member of North Suburban Evangelical Free Church in Deerfield. In his later years, Victor enjoyed hunting, woodworking, gardening, and fishing with his grandkids in the Ozarks.

Cremation has been accorded.

A memorial service will be held later at North Suburban Evangelical Free Church in Deerfield where the family will meet friends following the service. (Service date and time will be announced Tuesday 3/20/18). Private family committal services will be held at a later date.

Memorial gifts are suggested to North Suburban Evangelical Free Church.
