Cora Lee Nelson, better known as “Granny” age 85 of Loudon, formerly of LaFollette passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018. She was a member of Cave Creek Baptist Church. Cora enjoyed gardening, flowers, crocheting, and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by parents Forester and Anna Mae (Cooper) Hatmaker; grandson Joe Nelson; brothers Paris, Clayton, Owen, Ernest, and Hascue “Hack” Hatmaker; sisters Esta Prater, Eva Miller, Erma Dagley, and Katie Prater.

She is survived by husband of 71 years, Robert Nelson of Loudon; sons Ernest Nelson & wife Wanda of Loudon, David Nelson & wife Mary of Lenoir City; daughter Joyce Burton of Knoxville; sister Laura Grace Miller of Oliver Springs; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; a host of other relatives.

Visitation will be 5-7 PM Saturday, March 17, 2018 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home followed by funeral service at 7 PM with Bro. Jerry Dagley and Rev. Rick Kirkland officiating. Friends and family will meet 12 PM Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home for the 1 PM interment in Bakers Forge Cemetery.
