Nate graduated from Seymour High School in 2006 and then entered the U.S. Army in July of 2006. He served in the 101st Airborne DN, 2nd BCT, 1-502 Infantry REGT., Delta Co., at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. Nate did two combat tours, one in Afghanistan and one in Iraq. When Nate discharged from the Army in May of 2012, he had been awarded a Combat Infantryman's Badge, Pathfinder, Airborne, Air Assault, Ranger School, Bronze Star Medal, 2 Army Commendation medals and 2 Army Achievement Medals.
Survivors include his father, Phil Hill of Seymour; mother, Christina Hill of Seymour; 8 year old son, Kaleb Mason Hill of Clarksville, TN; siblings, Lindzi (Joe) Smith of Concord, N.C., Tyler Hill and Lucas Hill both of Seymour; paternal grandparents, Bode and Carol Hill of Seymour. Nate also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Nate was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Connie Rumph.
A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre in Seymour. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2:00pm until service time at the funeral home. Private burial will be on Wednesday at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison. Memorials can be made at the funeral home to the Nate Hill Memorial Fund or to the Disabled American Veterans.
