Michael James Costello, 72, died March 15, 2018 at Hospice House.

Mr. Costello was born May 8, 1945 in Youngstown, a son of James and Catherine Garrett Costello.

He was a 1963 graduate of Chaney High School. Michael had a few different jobs through the years, but his most recent was at General Electric where he worked for over 10 years.

He was a member of St. Christine Parish. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 732, where he was Past Commander and AMVETS Post 44. Michael was a veteran of the United States Army during Vietnam and he was an Eagle Scout.

Michael enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, and reading. He also enjoyed cars and going to car shows

He is survived by his wife, the former Shirley Speerbrecher, whom he married July 20, 1974; two sons, Sean Costello of Youngstown and James Costello of Youngstown; and one brother, Thomas (Janet) Costello of Boardman.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents.

Interment will be at Green Haven Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
