Kaitlyn Mae Wood, infant daughter of Kenny and Audrey (Harmon) Wood of Cuba, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the age of 1 year, 7 months and 14 days.
Katie, as she was known by her family and friends, was born at St. John's Mercy Medical Center, St. Louis on July 19, 2005. She was known as a child with a sweet disposition who loved life to its fullest. She was a happy girl who was the star of her parent's life and loved playing peek-a-boo and blowing kisses. She also loved her Elmo doll and Veggie Tales.
Along with her parents she is survived by her paternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Louise and Richard Boyer, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. Katie also leaves behind her beloved babysitter, Aimee Bolte, Aunts Penny and Sadie and Uncle Roger. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Edmon Wood and maternal grandparents, John and Jane Harmon.
Funeral services were conducted 7:00 p.m., Tuesday evening, March 6, 2007 from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri with the Rev. Leo Shumaker officiating. Private interment services were held in Hardy Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Downs Syndrome Association in the name of Kaitlyn Mae Wood.
