Shirley Kilpatrick Banks, 81, of Trenton, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 15th, 2018. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially trips to Seagrove Pottery and to Carolina Beach. One of her favorite pastimes was watching the hummingbirds with her cat, "Josie" curled up in her lap.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A.D. Banks, Jr., parents, Lewis and Mary Kilpatrick and her sister, Nina Register.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Banks; two brothers, John Kilpatrick (Ann) and Jimmy Kilpatrick (Darlene); one sister, Lola Brown (George); and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Also surviving are Ellis, Eddie and Joel Banks and their families.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, March 18th at Friendship Free Will Baptist Church in Trenton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home.
