Gerald Milton Watkins, 83, of Wilmington passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014. He was born on August 6, 1930 in Wilmington to the late, Obid Francis Watkins and Grace Davis Watkins. In addition to his parents Gerald is preceded in death by a sister, Maryann Watkins Riebel; and a brother, Wallace "Sonny" Watkins. Gerald is survived by his wife, Mary "Jinx" Glenn Manning Watkins; sons, Michael Edward Watkins (Barbara) of Charlotte, NC, Jere Alan Watkins of Clearwater, FL and Jeffrey Milton Watkins (Colleen) of VA. Gerald served his county honorably in the United States Air Force. He retired after thirty years of service as an air traffic controller. He was a member of Masonic Lodge # 395 and was an avid hunter and fisherman. The family will receive friends 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Winter Park Presbyterian Church with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Emile Harley officiating.
