FLINT TOWNSHIP (WJRT) - (03/14/18) - Heartbreaking confirmation of two deaths in Wednesday's accident involving a semi on I-69.
Flint Township Police say 27 year old Cody Thomas of Davison and his 3 year old daughter Aria lost their lives when the sedan they were riding in was rear-ended by a tractor trailer traveling westbound near Bristol Road. They were in the backseat.
They had just been picked up from Bishop airport by a Clio man. That driver was seriously hurt. He was also related to the Thomas family.
In all, four vehicles were involved in the crash.
The driver of the tractor-trailer is behind bars as the investigation continues, but police did not clarify as to why. Anyone who saw it happen is asked to call Flint Township Police. The accident took place just outside a large road construction project that began on Monday.
